This article covers: how long brake discs last, brake disc minimum thickness, how to replace/change the brake discs
How long will the brake discs last?
Brake discs wear through use over time and will eventually need replacement. The brake discs are considered a normal wear-and-tear item. The rate of wear on the discs depends on a number of factors, including rider weight (including luggage), braking style and regular maintenance.
We recommend you replace the brake discs when they reach a minimum thickness of 1.5mm
It is important to check your brake discs regularly. Using worn-out brake pads may significantly reduce braking performance, or cause the brake disc to fail unexpectedly.
How do I change the brake discs?
Changing the brake discs on a Gocycle requires special tools. Only a certified Gocycle retailer should change the brake discs.
Please contact your Gocycle dealer if you feel you need to replace your brake discs, or if you have any queries relating to your brakes.
