The Gocycle Connect app allows you to choose your riding mode as well as create custom modes to suit your riding preferences.
Once connected to the Gocycle, you can change the riding mode on the home screen of the app. Select the mode you want to be in and the Gocycle will automatically update.
Each mode utilises your Gocycle’s torque sensor, which detects the pedal input from the rider. The motor assistance level is controlled by rider pedal input:
Harder pedalling = higher motor assistance
Softer pedalling = less motor assistance
In all modes, the motor will start automatically when a rider pedals, and will continue to operate until the maximum speed is reached. When above the maximum speed for motor assistance, the motor will stop. The motor will also stop when the the pedals cease to rotate or if the pedal input is reduced.
Default Ride Modes
The default modes are Eco, City, Turbo and Demand. You can select these modes by tapping on the icons at the home screen. Each mode below shows you how much Range, Assist and Acceleration you will receive.
Eco mode
In Eco mode, the motor will start to assist when the rider pedals 180W or higher. The motor will give full assist when the rider pedals 600W or higher.
City
In City mode, the motor will start to assist when the rider pedals 100W or higher. The motor will give full assist when the rider pedals 250W or higher.
Turbo
In Turbo mode, the motor will start to assist when the rider pedals 50W or higher.
Demand
In this mode, the motor will not start automatically when a rider pedals. You will only get assistance when using the boost button or twist shift.
You cannot change the default modes.
Custom Ride Modes
We recommend trying the Gocycle first in the default modes, getting a feel for how they affect the ride. You can then fine-tune the modes to suit your needs by making a custom mode.
You can select your custom modes on the home screen. To edit press next to the C1 or C2
- The lower slider shows how hard you must pedal (in Watts) to start the motor assistance.
- The upper slider shows how hard you must pedal (in Watts) to gain full (100%) motor assistance.
- The closer you place the sliders to the left, the easier it is to get assistance. The further the sliders to the right more effort is needed.
- For G4 models only - Boost button assist allows you to change the amount of assistance provided when the boost button is used, the default assist for other modes in 100%
Once you are happy with your custom mode press the back arrow button, this will automatically save your mode.
Boost button assist
The boost button assist control allows you to set how much assistance you get when you hold the boost button. The standard is 100%, lowering this number means when the boost button is held, less power is delivered which can assist with increasing range while still using the boost button.
