Now with 15 years of in market experience servicing 10s of thousands of Gocycles globally, many with mileages exceeding 10,000 miles / 16,000 kms, and some even beyond 20,000 miles / 32,000 kms, we've learned a lot. While most of our customers ride their Gocycles within its design limits and intended use, some of our customers like pushing the limits! They're quick off the line, and sharp on the brakes, confidently hopping up curbs, speed bumps, and tackling rough city roads with high energy. Some may exceed the maximum weight limits or even neglect recommended maintenance entirely.
Common sense tells us that nothing that is used lasts forever. The more you use something, and the harder you use it, and the worse the conditions you use it in, the shorter its life.

Gocycles meet specific design limits outlined in EN15194 for electric city bicycles, and we actually test Gocycle to exceed these rigorous testing standards for added safety margin. However, it's crucial to understand that this standard is not the same as a racing or mountain bike standard.
Whether you're an "urban appointment dasher" or a "fast urban cruiser," our goal is for you to enjoy your Gocycle for years to come. Adhering to the recommended maintenance schedules outlined in the owner’s manual here (particularly the 2,000 mile / 3,200 km service) for all Gocyclers is paramount, especially those who push the limits! By prioritizing these services, you're prioritizing safety, ensuring maximum Gocycle warranty coverage, and minimizing expensive service costs.
What's New?
Taking into account all of our global service experience since 2009, we have updated our inspection guidelines with new and more specific metal fatigue checks relating to accelerated wear. We recommend you refresh your understanding of metal fatigue in the owner’s manual here.
These important new fatigue checks are included in our new GOCYCLE FASTFIELDS SERVICE, which sets higher standards for dealer inspection, maintenance, and safety and standardises all Gocycle servicing performed globally. NOTE: you must ask your dealer for a GOCYCLE FASTFIELDS SERVICE.

This not only safeguards your warranty but also boosts your Gocycle's re-sale value and safety. GOCYCLE FASTFIELDS SERVICE - New Wear and Tear Fatigue Checks
At every 2,000 mile / 3,200 km service, your dealer conducts critical fatigue checks on:
- Wheel spokes (Magnesium Wheels): Unapproved tires fitted, high tire pressures, rough roads, outside weight limits.
- Cleandrive Fixings: Unapproved tires fitted, high tire pressures, rough roads, outside weight limits, improperly torqued fasteners.
- Shear Pins (A) & Steerer (B,C) (Fast folding models): Heavy braking and acceleration, rough roads, outside weight limits, overloaded panniers, strong and aggressive rider profiles, wheelies, stoppies, curb hops, riding beyond EN15194 city bike standards.
- Handlebar stem (G4/GX Fast folding models): Heavy braking and acceleration, rough roads, outside weight limits, overloaded panniers, strong and aggressive rider profiles, wheelies, stoppies, riding, curb hops, beyond EN15194 city bike standards.
