Products affected: All "solo" Gocycle models
Main Take Away
Don't use "Cargo" bike tires on the Gocycle.
Cargo tires are made for carrying heavier loads and work differently than normal bike tires. They put more pressure and stress on the bike frame and parts than Gocycle tires or other non Cargo bike tires. Cargo bikes often have 3 or 4 wheels, so their tires are built to handle sideways forces that two-wheel bikes don't usually have. That's why Cargo tires are made differently, they are heavier, and stiffer and are not compatible with "solo" Gocycles. Solo Gocycles are Gocycles designed for one rider.
All warranties will be voided if Cargo tires are fitted to the Gocycle at any time during its lifetime.
Can I continue to ride my Gocycle?
If you are using "cargo bike" tires you will need to replace them before your next ride as they are not compatible with the Gocycle and can significantly reduce the service life of the Gocycle or damage the frame and components. If you have used "Cargo" bike tires for more than 500 miles, we recommend that you have a FASTFIELDS HEALTH CHECK done on your Gocycle from Gocycle directly or your local Gocycle dealer before continuing to ride.
Puncture Resistance options
For additional puncture resistance, we recommend puncture resistant tubes such as Slime filled inner tubes Extra Strong Self-Sealing Bike Tubes 20" x 1.5-2.125" Schrader | Slime – Slime Products or https://www.tubolito.com/product/tubo-cargo/. These offer industry leading puncture resistances when combined with Gocycle approved tires. Note: A cargo "inner tube" is ok to fit.
