If your battery won't charge, use this article to help identify if any of these issues are affecting the charging of your Gocycle:
temperature, humidity, Deep Sleep, max charge time of 24 hours, how to complete a charger test to identify if the charger is faulty or does not work, checking the LEDs on the battery
Step 1: check the temperature & humidity
Only use, charge or store the battery in an environment with ambient temperatures between 0°C and 40°C (32°F and 104°F) and a humidity of 45% to 85% RH. Outside of these ranges the battery will not charge.
Step 2a: Battery Deep Sleep function
The Gocycle G3 and GS battery has an automated Sleep Mode. It will enter Sleep Mode automatically after 5 hours of inactivity, even when on charge.
If your Gocycle G3 or GS is inactive or on charge for over 30 hours, the battery will enter Deep Sleep Mode. In this mode, the battery will not accept charge. The battery will not turn on if the charger is still plugged in.
You can get the battery out of Deep Sleep Mode by unplugging the charger from the battery, and turning on the battery as normal. You should be able to charge the battery after this.
If you cannot turn on the battery with the charger removed, please contact your dealer or complete our contact form here.
Step 2b (Gocycle G2 only): maximum charge time
The Gocycle G2 battery is different to the G3/GS battery. It will enter Sleep Mode automatically after 15.5 hours of inactivity. However, if the battery is on charge, the battery will not turn off automatically.
Do not charge your Gocycle G2 for longer than 24 hours. Doing so may damage your battery and void your warranty. If the button on the battery is showing 4 LEDs of charge, the battery will likely not accept a charge. Please see this article for checking the battery charge level.
If you cannot charge your G2 battery, contact your dealer or use our contact form.
Step 3: Complete the Charger test
Please see this article to complete a charger test.
Step 4: Check the LED display on the battery
Unplug the charger and turn on the battery as normal. Wait for the lights on the battery to turn off.
Tap the button on the end of the battery once. The 4 lights on the battery should indicate the current charge level. If all 4 lights flash together repeatedly, please see this article to perform a battery reset.
