If the gears are not adjusted correctly, the gears may slip whilst pedalling. This may happen on a new bike as the gears bed in.
To check the shifting is adjusted correctly:
-Put into 1st gear
-Pedal gently and slowly shift into 2nd gear
-The bike should shift into 2nd gear before the shifter clicks into 2nd gear
-If the Gocycle has not shifted into 2nd gear before the shifter clicked, increase cable tension
-If the Gocycle shifted into 2nd gear way before the shifter clicked, reduce cable tension
To increase tension on the cable, hold the smaller half still (with 'Jagwire' printed onto it), and rotate the other half anti-clockwise.
To decrease tension on the cable, hold the smaller half still (with 'Jagwire' printed onto it), and rotate the other half clockwise.
There is a limit to the adjustment of the rocket adjuster. If you unscrew it too far the larger half will just spin, as the thread is not engaged. If this happens on your Gocycle, a new cable will likely be required.
