Gocycle G4drive - Gocycle G4, G4i and G4i+
Yes - The G4Drive improves acceleration and hill climbing with more useable torque down low when you need it.
Riders can access instant torque from 0mph by holding the boost button (G4) or twist switch (G4i) and ensuring both feet are on the pedals. This is particularly useful when setting off on an incline or uneven surface.

No - the Gocycle motor will begin assisting the rider at speeds over 4mph (6km/h). This is the same for all Gocycle models and all mode settings. There are two main reasons for this:
- Efficiency - In order to start moving the Gocycle from a stand still, a large amount of power is required. For the first couple of meters, the muscle power of the rider is always significantly more efficient than the motor power. Once the Gocycle is moving, the motor will start to assist in a much more efficient way.
- Wear & Tear - The Gocycle is equipped with a very small but powerful Motor-Gearbox unit (which has one of the best power-to-weight-ratio in the industry). In order to guarantee the longevity of the product the motor requires a minimum speed to operate.
Fortunately, due to the low weight of the Gocycle (between 15kg and 17kg, depending on the model) it is very easy to pedal without the motor assistance.
Why Can I Not Set The Assistance To Start At Zero Pedal Watts On The G4, G4i and G4i+
Due to the increased torque of the G4Drive the safety of the user would have been compromised when riding at slow speeds with many surrounding obstacles.
The minimum amount of pedal watts is 50 which can be achieved by resting your foot on the pedal so it is a very small force.
