Force a Firmware Update

This procedure is called a 'Boost Button Power-Up' and forces The Gocycle to accept a fresh firmware update. This will fix an issue where a firmware update has failed.

To force and firmware upgrade on all Gocycle modes (not applicable to Gocycle G1), please follow this procedure. This is also referred to as a boost button power up:

For G4, G2, GS, GX Gocycles:

  1. Turn OFF the Gocycle
  2. Close the app down fully
  3. Hold the red boost button (by the left handlebar grip) down continuously whilst turning ON the Gocycle.
  4. After the Gocycle has powered up, you can release the red button
  5. Open the app and turn on the Bluetooth on your device
  6. Connect to the Gocycle
  7. Hit the Settings icon in the top right of the screen
  8. Update the firmware

For G4i, G3, G3 Carbon, GXi Gocycles:

  1. Turn OFF the Gocycle
  2. Close the app down fully
  3. Rotate the left twist switch (by the left handlebar grip) down towards you continuously whilst turning ON the Gocycle.
  4. After the Gocycle has powered up, you can release the twist switch
  5. Open the app and turn on the Bluetooth on your device
  6. Connect to the Gocycle
  7. Hit the Settings icon in the top right of the screen
  8. Update the firmware
