Servicing
To ensure that you are getting the best from your Gocycle we would advise checking your mileage and performing any necessary servicing on the Gocycle.
- First Service - All new Gocycles should have the First Service completed after 100 miles (160km).We recommend that the First Service is completed by an approved Gocycle service centre or a visual inspection is undertaken.
- Visual inspection - You should check your Gocycle every 500 miles (800km) or every 3 months. Visit gocycle.com/safety to keep up-to-date with safety information, check your Gocycle has the latest firmware installed and read Section 7.3 of the Owner's Manual for a full description of the checks. You can download the latest Owner's Manuals for your Gocycle model here.
- Annual Service - Your Gocycle should have a full service annually, or every 2000 miles (3200km). The service should be performed by an authorised Gocycle service centre. You can find your nearest service centre here.
Visibility
With the hours of daylight getting shorter it is important that you make sure you are visible to other road users by using your reflectors, Integrated Light Kit as well as always wearing bright, reflective clothing when riding.
Cold conditions
All Gocycles have traction control for the motor drive as standard. This reduces the likelihood of the front wheel spinning out under motor drive. However this does not prevent the wheels losing grip altogether.
You may want to fit other recommended tyres that provide increased grip in adverse conditions.
If the roads are icy then it is advisable to not to ride in these conditions.
Battery
As with other lithium-ion battery-powered products, performance is affected adversely as the temperature decreases.
- If the outside temperature is less than 15°C (59°F), you may start to experience a drop in power and range.
- At 0°C (32°F) and below, you may even experience less than 50% of your normal range.
- The battery warms up during use. We advise use the motor gently at the start of your ride . This allows the battery to warm up decreasing the resistance of the battery. This will ensure you maximise range from your battery.
- The battery will not permanently be damaged by cold weather; it is only a temporary effect.
- If using your Gocycle in a cold climate, for best performance we advise that you store and charge the Gocycle indoors. The battery will only charge between 5°C - 40°C (41°F-104°F).
