Complete this test to check if the charger is working, and if the battery is accepting a charge:
1. Unplug the charger from the bike and the mains
2. Turn on the battery using the button
3. Turn off the battery using the button
4. Plug the charger into the battery first, ensuring the charger lead is fully inserted into the battery
5. Plug the charger into the mains
Here is what should happen:
For G2, G3, G3C, G3+ and GS:
· The charger turns on, red LED shown on charger, a click is heard from the charger
· The battery turns on, the left two LEDs on the battery button blink alternately
· The LEDs on the battery stay static for a moment indicating the current charge state (1-4 LEDs)
· The charger begins charging, yellow LED shown on the charger
· The battery shows it is charging, you will have 1 LED blinking to indicate charging. depending on current charge state you may have 1-3 LEDs showing to the left of this.
For GX and GXi:
· The charger turns on, red LED shown on charger, a click is heard from the charger
· The LEDs on the battery stay static for a moment indicating the current charge state (1-4 LEDs)
· The charger begins charging, yellow LED shown on the charger
· The battery shows it is charging, you will have 1 LED blinking to indicate charging. depending on current charge state you may have 1-3 LEDs showing underneath of this
If the charger does not show a light on it at all:
- Try another power outlet
- Try a different power lead
- Check the fuse on the power lead (UK only)
- Replace the charger

Great instructions. I plugged it in, red flashing light. Googled it, found your page, followed the instructions & now it’s working correctly.
Yes, I was in quite a panic, had not had any probl3m for 800 miles, then this! But the recipe fixed it and charging began again, panic over!
