Remove the rear light cable cover from the bike and the cable.
You may want to keep the cable cover if you remove the luggage rack in the future. |
|
3. |
Remove the Thumbscrew from the frame.
NOTE: The thumbscrew should not be used with the luggage rack. The clamp needs to be at a higher torque than what is possible with the thumbscrew. |
|
4. | Remove the seat post from the Gocycle.
5. |
Remove the seatpost upper from the lower seatpost.
Remove your new luggage rack from the packaging - it will have a seatpost lower pre-installed for your convenience. You should not remove this supplied seatpost from the rack.
Keep your seatpost lower safe for when you want to ride without your luggage rack fitted.
NOTE: Do NOT replace the supplied seatpost with the compact seat post - Not currently approved for use with luggage rack. |
|
6. |
Insert the luggage rack and seatpost into the frame. Push it all the way down to the internal seat clamp stop.
|

7. |
NOTE: when fully installed you should NOT be able to see the "MIN INSERT" mark above the top edge of the frame. |
|
8. |
Use 4mm hex key to tighten seatpost frame bolt provided with the luggage rack to 5Nm.
The Seatpost Security Screw (KKL-4760-0000-01) can also be used.
NOTE: Do NOT re-use the thumbscrew when installing the luggage rack. |
|
9. |
Check luggage rack is straight and aligned with the rear wheel. |
|
10. |
Note: when fully installed you should NOT be able to see the "MIN INSERT" mark above the top edge of the clamp. |
|
11. |
If you need to adjust the clamp, loosen off one side of the clamp using a 5mm hex key and move the luggage rack up or down the seatpost.
Once in the correct position ensure both bolts are torqued to 8-10Nm. |
|
12. |
Connect Light plug. |
|
13. |
Fit the luggage rack cable cover.
Take caution that the wire does not get damaged. |
|
14. |
Ensure the cable is clear of the bolt hole.
Tighten the bolt to 2-3Nm. |
|
15. | Insert the seatpost upper into the luggage rack seatpost lower.
16. |
Ensure the MIN INSERT marks are not visible.
Tighten the clamp bolt to 4-5Nm. |
|
17. |
Check all fixings are tight.
Hold the frame and push sideways on the end of the luggage rack applying a 10Kg (22lb) force from the centre of where the luggage is placed. This midpoint measurement is 11.7cm from outer edge of pannier tubes.
The luggage rack should not move. |
