The Gocycle battery pack has been designed as a non-removable item as the front frame provides excellent protection against external damage and vibration. This has been done so that we can keep the weight of the Gocycle as low as possible as a battery protection box will add unnecessary weight and bulk to the product. We would not recommend transporting the battery pack loose or charging outside of the frame in case of accidental damage to the pack. Should be battery become damaged, do not use it, visit our contact form here.
The battery can be removed from the frame for replacement or servicing:
Will the battery get hot?
The battery can get warm under charge and/or during use whilst riding. This is normal. We recommend that you allow the battery to cool before placing it on charge. A battery that is warm (above 40°C) as a result of usage will not charge until its temperature returns to a level optimal for charging. This feature automatically protects the battery against possible damage.

Regenerative braking or a kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) do existing on some electric bicycles; however, these systems currently have the drawback of increased weight, complexity and cost, and the amount of energy recovered is usually less than 10%. Technology keeps progressing and we may be able to offer regenerative braking in the future.
