This article covers: what happen if the motor feels hot, gets submerged in water, how to remove the motor, what to do if the motor is slipping
The motor feels hot during or after use. Is this normal?
Yes - the motor is small but powerful and can get hot. Please treat the motor with caution. The motor is located in the front hub.
What happens if water gets in the motor?
If you are riding in the rain, we advise that you use the motor when possible and it is safe to do so. The heat of the motor will help the motor dry off. If Gocycle is left standing in the rain and water gets into the motor, it is likely that the motor will continue to function. However in this case, you should either dry off the motor with a towel or run the motor so that the water evaporates.
If the motor becomes submerged in water for an extended period, it is unlikely the motor will function afterwards. Please see this article about handling a Gocycle which has been submerged in water.
How do I remove the motor?
The motor on all Gocycles is located in the front hub. You should never attempt to remove the motor, unless asked to do so by Gocycle Technical Support. Removing the motor could void the warranty.
The motor feels like its slipping. What should I do?
If you feel like you have an issue with your motor assistance, please contact your local Gocycle Reseller or Gocycle Technical Support for assistance.
